Safeguarding Awareness Week 2020 - Keeping Everyone Safe From Exploitation

Contextual Safeguarding and Exploitation in Sheffield will be the key theme of this year’s Safeguarding Awareness Week, which will run from Monday 16th November to Friday 20th November across South Yorkshire.

Sheffield’s safeguarding partnerships for adults and children will be working with partners from health, South Yorkshire Police, the local authority and others, to raise awareness of:

  • What it means to safeguard children, young people and vulnerable adults from exploitation,
  • The contexts in which exploitation can arise
  • Which organisations which can offer the right type of help and support.

Due to Covid-19, Safeguarding Awareness Week 2020 will be held virtually and will include a range of free masterclasses for safeguarding professionals to attend. Join us to learn how Sheffield is responding to exploitation and what is being done locally to contextually safeguard children, young people and vulnerable adults. You will also find out what should be done if you suspect or know about the exploitation of any child, young person or vulnerable adult.

The week will be promoted on social media using the hashtag #SYSAW20 and details of events will be available at Sheffield Adult Safeguarding Partnership the in due course.
