Safeguarding Adult Review (SAR) (Equivalent to Level 3 / 4)

The Care Act 2014 states that Safeguarding Adult Boards (SABs) must arrange a Safeguarding Adult Review (SAR) when an adult in its area dies as a result of abuse or neglect, whether known or suspected, and there is concern that partner agencies could have worked together more effectively to protect the adult.

The overall purpose of a Safeguarding Adult Review is to promote learning and improve practice, by identifying what is working well and what needs improving and changing. This course is ideal for staff working with adults at risk, who are responsible for raising safeguarding concerns, attending multi- agency meetings and discussions and sharing information in order to support an adults wellbeing and safety.

This three-hour workshop will:

  • Review some local and national SAR’s
  • Explore lessons to be learnt from how professionals and their agencies worked together
  • Outline how findings and recommendations can be embedded into practice
  • Explain the importance of multi-agency working and information sharing.

Only 5 people are allowed from each organisation, this is to make this multi agency. Unfortunately we will remove any more than 5 if the course has a waiting list to allow others from a different organisation to join the course.
