Adult Safeguarding Training
Due to the current situation with regards to COVID 19, some face to face Safeguarding Adults Training has been cancelled. We appreciate that even in these difficult times staff will want to maintain their knowledge and skills and may need to access training in order to do this so we are happy to announce a new Safeguarding Adults Virtual Training Programme.
We have planned a programme of courses, which nearly all will be delivered via Zoom. Because the sessions are being delivered virtually, places are limited so please book early to secure a place. Email adult.protection.training@sheffield.gov.uk for an Application Form.

Safeguarding Adult Review (SAR) +
The Care Act 2014 states that Safeguarding Adult Boards (SABs) must arrange a Safeguarding Adult Review (SAR) when an adult in its area dies as a result of abuse or neglect, whether know or suspected, and there is concern that partner agencies could have worked together more effectively to protect the adult.
The overall purpose of a Safeguarding Adult Review is to promote learning and improve practice, by identifying what is working well and what needs improving and changing. This course is ideal for staff working with adults at risk, who are responsible for raising safeguarding concerns, attending multi-agency meetings and discussions and sharing information in order to support an adults wellbeing and safety.
The three hour workshop will:
- Review some local and national SAR's
- Explore lessons to be learnt from how professionals and their agencies worked together
- Outline how findings and recommendations can be embedded into practice
- Explain the importance of multi-agency working and information sharing.
