Sheffield Adult Safeguarding Partnership

How to Nominate

Dignity Awards:

The vision for Adult Social Care in Sheffield is to support people to be independent, safe and well. One of our priorities is for people to have support that is built around them which is of the highest quality and demonstrates respect, dignity and fairness.

A Dignity Awards scheme has been co-produced with citizens from the Service Improvement Forums to acknowledge those Adult Social Care staff whose actions make a difference and serve as an example to others.

The purpose of the awards is to raise standards within adult social care by motivating people and teams to go above and beyond in their roles and in the services they provide to the citizens of Sheffield.

There are two awards available, an individual award and a team award.

Individual Award:

An individual award recognises an individual’s actions in demonstrating the highest quality of practice with regard to respect, dignity and fairness.

Team Award:

A team will automatically be considered for a team award once 80% of their members have acquired an individual award. The Team Manager simply completes a team nomination form outlining the size of their team, the numbers of people who have an award and include a covering statement outlining how the team actively supports the dignity challenge. This nomination is then submitted for endorsement by the panel.

The Panel:

The panel is made up of citizens from the Service Improvement Forums who score each nomination against criteria that is based on the national dignity values and actions.

Frequency:

The Dignity Awards are held twice a year in spring and autumn.
